Kelly, Medina, Toledo, Gilmore and others are in Abu Dhabi testing the new wave pool
The first images of what they say will be (it doesn't seem to be yet) the largest artificial wave in the world
Kelly Slater, Gabriel Medina, Filipe Toledo, Stephanie Gilmore and Jeremy Flores, among other professionals, are in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, testing the new wave pool built there that has technology from the 11-time world champion, reported several specialized media around the world.
The pool, which promises to be the largest in history, will be inaugurated at the end of the year and will serve as an attraction for anyone who wants to go, paying an entrance fee or membership.
It will be part of a condominium on Hudayriyat Island.

In the images released, the wave is neither bigger nor longer. Slater is combining good maneuvers and barrels.
“I’ve surfed some of the most incredible waves around the world and this wave in Abu Dhabi ranks right up there with some of the best on the planet,” Slater said, according to the Surf Abu Dhabi Instagram account.
