The Las Golondrinas hotel continues to expand with a new opening in El Salvador, the fifth since its inauguration and the second in the Central American country, the company reported in a press release.
After starting its journey in Mar del Plata in 2023 and opening branches in Ayampe, Ecuador, Encuentro in the Dominican Republic and El Zonte in El Salvador, the fifth branch of the chain arrived, this one in Kilometer 59, thanks to the brothers of former Chilean professional surfers Vicente and Nico “Pingüi” Díaz.
“After the opening in El Zonte, we understood that El Salvador was not just a new destination on the Las Golondrinas map, but a market where our community could grow sustainably. KM59 is a natural step in that consolidation,” stated Gerónimo Usuna, founding partner and CEO of Las Golondrinas.
“We believe that El Salvador is consolidating itself as one of the main references for surf tourism in Central America and we want to accompany that growth with new proposals for our community,” added 'Lele' and Gerónimo Usuna, founders of Las Golondrinas.
For Vicente Díaz, the partnership with the Usuna brothers was a natural step: “We used to come to El Salvador a lot, always, to surf and compete. We invested a lot of time here, and when we found out that Lele and Gero were doing projects here, we got in touch, mainly because what connected our families the most was surfing and this beautiful country.”
“The difference is that it is surrounded by jungle and just a few meters from the sea, so it is perfect for wellness retreats, team building and surf camps, not only that but a family can come and share the house just for themselves,” said Gerónimo.
Las Golondrinas KM59 can accommodate up to 18 guests and offers a flexible format, allowing guests to book individual rooms or rent the entire property. The hotel features a swimming pool, gardens, terraces, a communal kitchen with a breakfast bar, Wi-Fi, fitness areas, and outdoor relaxation spaces. Its concept maintains the essence of Las Golondrinas: combining the social atmosphere of a hostel with the comforts of a hotel, in spaces designed to foster community among travelers with similar interests, the statement adds.
The opening will take place between 2026 and 2027 and is part of the chain's expansion, which now aims to open in Indonesia, Peru, and Panama.
