Latinos make steady progress at the Essential Costa Rica Surf Pro

German-Costa Rican Leon Glatzer stands out with the first 10 of the event


Under an intermittent but persistent storm, the second day of the Essential Costa Rica Surf Pro, QS 1500 event in Jacó Beach, Costa Rica, closed.

The entire Pacific coast of Costa Rica is currently under yellow alert due to weather conditions, which have already caused flooding and damage to infrastructure. According to the Meteorological Institute of Costa Rica, a decrease in rainfall is expected tomorrow, so the alert level could be lowered.

Of the three surfers who had total heat scores higher than 15, two are Wesley Leite from Brazil (with 15.93 points) and local Carlos Muñoz (with 15.43).

The best score of the day was obtained by Leon Glatzer, who with an enormous flight, landed in the first 10 of the event, which gave him a total of 17.00 points.

Sisters Valentina and Candelaria Resano were the most outstanding Hispanics of the day, advancing to first place in their respective series, with 13.00 and 9.90, respectively. The highest score was obtained by Meah Collins of the United States (13.50).
