Lele Usuna is the new coach of the Chinese team Hainan

He's already settled in on the waves at Riyue Bay and in the adjacent pool, training surfers from the province.

Two-time world champion Lele Usuna is working in a novel new job as a coach for China's Hainan province, he told DUKE.

Usuna's goal is for the team to arrive at the national championship as well prepared as possible and to qualify for the Asian Games in Japan, which in turn qualify for the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games.

Usuna has been working in the waves at Riyue Bay, where QSs and ISA events have already taken place, and will also use the wave pool located there for training.
