Mar del Plata native Leandro Usuna won the La Paloma event and secured his fourth national championship title with one stage in advance, according to calculations made by DUKE based on the Argentine ranking, since authorities reported that they will add four of five stages.

By reaching the final and his opponent not being the runner-up in the rankings, Nazareno Pereyra, Usuna was already champion.

For this reason, when he entered the water in the decision against Franco Radziunas, the Argentine was already Argentine champion.

Usuna defeated Nahuel Rull in the semi-finals and Radziunas defeated Maxi Siri.

The two-time world champion already had two wins and a second place. He now has three wins and the runner-up position, which gives him an unattainable 3860 points out of a possible 4000.

"It was a crazy year. For many it was bad but for me it was incredible because I had the great news that I'm going to be a father. I'm excited! Ending it like this makes me very happy even though there's one date left. I'm tired, very happy, content," said Usuna, according to Quiksilver Argentina on its social networks.

"One of the best waves we've had in a tournament in a while, it was one of the best tournaments I've won in La Paloma, maybe others were bigger but this one was incredible," the Argentine concluded.
