Five years after hosting Lima 2019, the Peruvian capital was once again chosen to host the Pan American Games for 2027, it was reported after the conclusion of the Extraordinary Assembly of Panam Sports that just took place in Miami, United States.

The online vote showed 28 votes out of 52 in favour of the Peruvian capital over Paraguay's Asunción, the other candidate.

Surfing, as shown in the presentation made by the city, will once again be in Punta Rocas, where the High Performance center, the venue for Lima 2019, is located.

In the two presentations made by the candidate venues, Lima presented a budget of 369 million dollars for the realization of the games and stood out for showing itself prepared for the test, emphasizing the construction of five new buildings for the Pan American village and the improvement of transportation.

Asunción, for its part, had to practically build its headquarters from scratch, although it stressed the proximity of each of the headquarters and in its presentation it placed great emphasis on the fact that the presidency will not change in the country in the coming years.

Carlos Neuhuaus, surfer, former president of FENTA and president of Lima 2019, was present at the event and interviewed by Panam Sports, he stressed the joy that winning again means for his country.

The month proposed by the organization for the games to be held is September, but this is subject to what the venue defines with Panam Sports.
