Francisco Lolo Bellorin, former Latin American and Pan American champion, expressed his disagreement on social media about the scores he received today in round 4 of the Surf City El Salvador Latin Pro, in which he was eliminated from the event against Bryan Perez and Jhonny Corzo.
On his Instagram, the Venezuelan wrote: “Quite disappointed with the judges’ criteria and performance during this stage of the ALAS. I went to speak with the head judge Kali Artavia after my heat so he could explain the scores for the waves I rode and he told me that there was no change of direction or strength in my maneuvers. Here are the waves from the heat to see what you think.”
In one of the most competitive heats of the day, Bellorin added two backside attacks that gave him 13,9 (6,3+7,6) to place third, Jhony Corzo used the same strategy to get 14,8 (7,5+7,3) and Bryan Pérez flew on one wave and attacked from the backside on another to receive 15 (8,33+6,67).
With his 13,9, the Venezuelan would have gone through all the series of the day.
The event continues today at 7 am, with all categories competing in the competition taking to the water.
