Lucca Mesinas has just become the first Peruvian man in history to pass a round of the CT

He sent Jadson Andre to the playoffs and finished second alongside Griffin Colapinto

Making a very well read, very well competed and very well surfed series, the Peruvian Lucca Mesinas became the first Peruvian in history to advance a series in the CT, today in Barra de la Cruz, Mexico, where the seventh stage of the season is being contested.

Mesinas built up his performance wave after wave, starting with fours, then doing fives and finally reaching six. He scored a 6,43 and a 5,3 to leave Jadson Andre of Brazil in third, needing a 6,31.

The series was controlled from start to finish by Griffin Colapinto who won with a total of 13 points.

The history of Peruvian men's surfing in the CT-QS format is short, with Miguel Tudela debuting in this season's Pipe Masters after placing second in the trials.

Mesinas, third in the WSL North American rankings, received an invitation to the Mexican stage from the WSL.

With this result he is already advanced to round 3 and due to his pre-qualification he will face one of the best in the ranking in a man-to-man series.
