Luchy Cosoleto spent a day at the Swiss wave pool, Alaïa Bay, and was able to draw her own conclusions about the revolution these are generating worldwide.

The Argentine prefers the sea but appreciates being able to practice the same maneuver over and over again, or, as she says, improve her technique on the tubes.

Below are Luchy's conclusions about her trip to the Swiss wave.

How did you end up in Alaia Bay? How did the trip come about?
We were invited to try out the pool with my friend Alazne Aurrekoetxea, so we went on the adventure of the artificial wave.

What did you think of the place?
Beautiful! The location is truly unique… While surfing, you're surrounded by mountains. Plus, the place is perfectly set up for a day of exploring and making the most of it. They have spaces to watch the waves up close, a restaurant, games, fully equipped changing rooms, a surf shop, a surf school, and they even have their own hostel.

Which wave did you like best? The barrel wave or the maneuvering wave?
The truth is, my favorite was the barrel ride (laughs). It wasn't so easy for me in the first few waves, but I got the hang of it later and was able to ride a few barrels in Switzerland. I thought it was incredible to really practice the technique of riding a barrel.

Surfing in the sea or surfing in the pool? Why?
Well, the truth is, for me, surfing in the ocean is the most beautiful thing there is. Being in the ocean is something unique and inexplicable. Being a surfer, for me, is being able to enter the ocean and know how to ride waves, adapting to the conditions at that moment. Surfing is unpredictable, and I think that's the magic of this sport that captivates us so much. I think the pool is a perfect complement to correct and improve technique; you spend an hour surfing the same wave every time.

What happened that you didn't use the SUP?
It was an express trip with my shortboard (laughs)

How is your year going?
I have a few more days of training in Europe (I'm in Portugal now). Then I'm competing in the Corona event and the ALAS in Puerto Rico, the ALAS in Guatemala, the ISA SUP World Championships in El Salvador, the ALAS in El Salvador, and finally the APP World Tour event in Gran Canaria.
