Lucía Machado asks for help to go to the World Cup in Taiwan
The European junior vice-champion and fourth in the world at the ISA world championships needs 4.000 Euros to travel
The European junior runner-up and ISA World Cup copper medallist, Lucía Machado, established a tally of GoFundMe asking for 4.000 Euros to travel to the WSL World Championships that will take place in Taiwan between November 26 and December 1.
“I don’t have any financial support to be able to go. And also, since I am a minor, I will have to be accompanied by an adult. If you want to help me with the expenses and help me go, I would be very grateful,” says Lucía in the message.
The campaign has created a stir on social media and, for example, on Instagram it was shared about 50 times.
It also caused outrage, the respected professional Leticia Canales shared and wrote: “Give it a second thought… It can't be that one of our promises qualifies for the junior world championship and doesn't have the budget to go. I suffered it myself too.”
The Canarian has just won the last stage of the European tour held in the Azores, which left her in second place in a very competitive ranking.
