Brazilian Luiz Diniz, Peruvians Vania Torres and Mafer Reyes, and American Kevin Skvarna have provisionally qualified for Lima 2027 after winning gold at the Pan American Surfing Championship being held at Playa Venao.

Diniz, Torres, Reyes and Skvarna would lose their qualification if another SUP surfer or longboarder from the same country qualifies for the Pan American or World Championships next year.

This is because the hierarchy and number of qualifiers per event is as follows:
- 3 best athletes in the region's ranking at the ISA World SUP & Paddleboard Championship 2027 (if this competition is not held before Lima 2027, the results of the ISA World SUP & Paddleboard Championship 2026 will be considered)
- 4 athletes for the Pan American Surfing Games PASA 2027
- 1 athlete per Pan American Surfing Games PASA 2026

In other words, if another Brazilian, another Peruvian, or another American, in each of their categories, makes it into the top 3 eligible for the World Championship or the top 4 eligible for the 2027 Pan American Games, then neither Vania nor Luiz, nor Mafer nor Kevin qualify.

For example: Since a maximum of one qualifies per country, if next year in the world championships an American is in the top 3 eligible, then Kevin Skvarna does not go and Jonathan Melendres qualifies through the Pan American Games.
