Mad Max's pool offers a unique opportunity to surf it
At a gala to benefit an NGO that helps children, a day of surfing for two will be auctioned there
For the first time in history, Yeppon's Surf Lake will open its doors to the public, Beachgrit reported yesterday, based on information posted on the website of the NGO KidzWish, which is dedicated to providing support, love and joy to children in the community who are sick, homeless or disabled.
The connection between one thing and the other occurs because the day after tomorrow there will be an auction to benefit the organization and two golden tickets will be available to those who put up the most money.
It remains to be seen how far the rift will go to surf that wave. A similar situation occurred with the surf ranch and those who participated in the auction paid $40.000 for the day there.
“This is a unique opportunity for you and a friend to enjoy a day of surfing at the Lake. This is not open to the public so it is a very rare opportunity that you don’t want to miss,” the promotion says (see below).
A few months ago, the surfing world was impressed with scenes worthy of a Mad Max movie, with a giant piston that stirs the water and generates five waves around it.
Mark Occhilupo and Barton Lynch are two of the shareholders and figures of the project that was revealed yesterday will be inaugurated on the Gold Coast.
To enter the auction, be at Wiseman Park Bowling Club in Gwynneville for the 10th Annual KidzWish Fundraising Gala.
