Mafer Reyes and Kevin Skvarna won gold in Venao

They defeated Chloe Calmón and Jonathan Melendres in the grand final; Díaz, Gall, Gil and Bahía took the bronze.

Peruvian Mafer Reyes and American Kevin Skvarna won the longboard category of the Pan American surfing competition being held in Playa Venao, Panama.

In what were two electrifying finals, Skvarna turned the final series around in their last wave, needing 7 points and receiving 7,67 to go for first place and finish 12,6 to 12.

Meanwhile, Mafer Reyes started fast but was then overtaken by Chloe Calmón, who scored a 5,5 on her best wave. But at the end of the heat, she regained the lead with a 6, which kept her in first place.

The final result of the series was 10,83 to 9,73.

The result gave them the Pan American trophy but also a provisional ticket to Lima 2027.

Now the tournament is left with the shortboard and SUP Race finals.
