Maldives resort offers entire island for $130.000 a night
Guarantees solo surfing on a wave that can only be used by guests
The luxury resort Niyama Private Islands in the Maldives has launched a promotion as it adapts its facilities to the general public: It is renting out its entire facility for 135 people for $130.000 a night and offering a partial package of 30 villas for up to 65 people for $40.000 a night, Stab reported in an interview with the facility's manager, Nathan Kemp.
This package, Kemp explains, fits within what they can offer today as they prepare for the resort's general opening on October 1, adjusting to all the regulations demanded by the Covid-19 pandemic.
The Maldives, which bases its economy solely on tourism revenue, opened its doors on July 15.
The manager explains that it is much cheaper than what would be charged if people went individually. Doing some simple math, the daily rate is usually more than $1.000 per day.
“I really hope some friends reading this get together and have the most epic surf vacation of their lives,” he says.
The island has exclusive management of the perfect Vodi left; only clients can surf it.
In the interview, Kemp said that the Coronavirus never reached the Maldives and that the last client at his resort left in April and from then on he only surfed the perfect waves in the area.
