Chilean Manuel Selman is the newest member of the Quiksilver family, the brand and the surfer announced yesterday on their social networks.

Selman had announced weeks ago the end of his multi-year relationship with Maui and Sons and now revealed that the mountain and wave brand will occupy the tip of his board.

“It is an incredible honor to introduce my new title sponsor, Quiksilver. Thank you for believing in me. Personally, being a Quiksilver rider is a sporting achievement. Since I was a kid when I learned to surf, I used Quiksilver, like in that photo from the ALAS Pro Tour junior awards ceremony in 2003,” Selman wrote yesterday, Monday.

He added: “Being part of such a privileged brand that has supported so many elite surfers over the years is an honour, we are going all out! And with an incredible current team!”, and mentioned Lucca Mesinas, Kanoa Igarashi, Ezekiel Lau, Aritz Aranburu, Rio Waida, Mateus Herdy, Thiago Passeri, Tomás Tudela, Martín Passeri and Tao Rodríguez, among others.

Selman is currently in the Dominican Republic, preparing to compete in the historic QS that will take place in Cabarete.

The brand has been adding several talented people in recent months; youngsters Darshan Antequera, Rachel Agüero and Valeria Ojeda had been announced as part of the team a few months ago and they were joined by this heavyweight.
