Mason Ho and the Snapt team won the Backdoor Shootout
There is no information on the overall results and therefore it is not known where the Peruvians ranked.
Mason Ho won the Backdoor Shootout in the individual division and his team, Snapt, also made up of Benji Brand, Barron Mamiya, Parker Coffin and Eithan Osborne as an alternate, won the overall team ranking, with the Pipe local earning $50.000 for the victory.
The tournament ended yesterday, Sunday, with a day of solid waves at the queen of waves.
Balaram Stack came in second in the tournament, and John John Florence came in third. In the team rankings, Volcom, formed by Kaimana Henry, Jack Robinson, Makana Pang, Balaram Stack, Miekey O'Shaughnessy and Kainehe Hunt, came in second, and team Florence, formed by John John, Nathan, Ivan and Alexandra Florence, together with Eli Olson, came in third.
The award for the most dangerous was won by Kala Grace, for her overall performance and also for the incredible barrel grade 12 that she got on the final day. In second place in this division was Bethany Hamilton, who also got off on some incredible waves.
The WSL women's team, consisting of Moana Wong, Hamilton, Carissa Moore and Keala Kennelly, received a special mention for being the first in history with 100% female participation.
The overall results were not released and therefore there is no information on the overall ranking of the Peruvians or their individual results. In their last two series they did not have a performance like in the penultimate one in which everyone shone.
As far as we could see, Cristobal de Col surfed some of the team's best waves on the final day.
