Maxi Sáenz had a good season in the Mecca this year, taking a few good ones at Backdoor and a bomb at Pipe.

"Backdoor and its magic. A month and a half full of new things, seeing with the eyes of a child and learning from the best, there is no better place than this.
"Grateful to be here and experience this," Maxi said.

And he added: "A place where it doesn't matter where you sit. If you put a clear intention into it, time will end up happening the way you want it to. Thank you Hawaii for so much, thank you to the locals for sharing their waves and thank you to those who are here. I love you all," he added.
