The viral Olympic photo showing Medina flying off a wave at Teahupoo is now part of the Olympic Museum, the museum and photographer Jerome Brouillet reported on Instagram.

"It's a great honor to have a copy of my photo in the Olympic Museum in Lausanne. A small piece of history in the archives of an event that began centuries ago and will endure forever," the Frenchman wrote in the post.

Meanwhile, the museum said: “A week ago, we had the pleasure of welcoming Jerome Brouillet for a special donation to the Olympic Museum. A fascinating talk about his work as a sports photographer, and in particular about that iconic photo by Gabriel Medina that made history at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.”

Brouillet reflected: “Life is beautiful because it's unpredictable. I never imagined I'd one day be part of the Olympic Games. Just being there, photographing the sport I love most during the most important event in the history of sport, was a dream come true. But seeing one of my photos become part of Olympic history... It's indescribable...”

According to several sources: “The Lausanne Olympic Museum offers a journey through the history of Olympism, featuring exhibits on ancient and modern Olympic Games, athlete artifacts, Games design, and the evolution of the Olympic movement. It also houses an Olympic Park with sculptures, an Olympic flame, and views of Lake Geneva, as well as collections of Olympic mascots and competitive sports equipment.”
