Merrick invading the CT: He brought boards for Ewing and Yolanda

The Australian did not use CIs in competition, but the Portuguese woman did.

Before leaving for El Salvador, Britt Merrick, Channel Island's lead shaper, made a video of what he was packing.

In addition to the usual suspects like Lakey or Pittar, or Medina himself who has been testing Merricks for months, a couple of names caught our attention: Ethan Ewing and Yolanda Hopkins.

Ewing is a longtime DHD user, with 10 years with the brand and about 1000 boards used, as he said on Stab in the Dark, and Yolanda Hopkins uses Fatum, a Portuguese brand that also accompanied her for a long time.

For the Portuguese stage, Hopkins actually competed with the Merrick with the logo partially covered.

Ewing, for his part, competed with DHDs.

Merrick has taken an aggressive approach to the transfer market in recent years, adding players like Mamiya, Chumbinho, and Hennessy to their squad, with Medina on the horizon.
