Messinas, Muñiz, Barona, Rosas and Erostarbe remain undefeated in the world championship

Peru's Lucca Mesinas and Argentina's Santiago Muñiz advanced to Round 5 of the ISA World Surfing Games main event after competing twice today on a fun-filled Huntington Beach.

They are, along with 10 other surfers, the only surfers who are still alive through the winners round and are now, if they continue through the

Meanwhile, Dominic Barona of Ecuador, Daniella Rosas of Peru and Nadia Erostarbe of Spain made it through their heats today and advanced to Round 4 of the main event, placing themselves among the 16 surfers who remain undefeated in the event.

Meanwhile, the overall team ranking shows 13 teams still with all their equipment in the competition, with no differentiation between the men's and women's team rankings.

Brazil has the advantage in the men's category because all of its athletes are alive, while among the women there is no nation that has all of its competitors alive in the main event.

Tomorrow will be a day of play-offs only and therefore key for the potential team ranking.
