Mesinas said goodbye to the Barra CT in 17th place

He could not beat the Australian Morgan Cibilic; Cadena, Corzo, Pioli and Detmers were also eliminated; Brisa remains in the fight, she will face Johanne Defay

Peruvian Lucca Mesinas put up a good fight against Australian Morgan Cibilic in his round 3 series of the Barra de la Cruz CT, but ended up being eliminated, finishing the tournament in 17th, becoming the first Peruvian man in history to make it through a series in the first division of the world tour.

With an overlapping series format, Mesinas showed his best surfing when he did not have priority, on an intermediate right that nobody wanted and where he executed about 10 maneuvers, three of them very strong to receive a 5,5 that backed up with a 3,33 put him partially in first place.

Once the priority series started, Cibilic found two good ones in the series and scored 7,67 and 7,37.

Mesinas had a good start but was unable to complete the final manoeuvre and received a 4,17.

The Peruvian remained until the end of the series needing a 9,54, he moved more towards the Barra point and waited for the bomb but with the tide rising, the wave never came.

The day was bad for the rest of the Latin Americans, with Diego Cadena, Jhony Corzo, Regina Pioli and Shebly Detmers also ending their participation in the tournament.

The only Latin American left in the tournament is Costa Rican Brisa Hennessy, who will face Johanne Defay in round 3.
