Dylan Southworth, Jhony Corzo and Alan Cleland, Asaya Brusa, Shelby Detmers and Summer Sívori will represent Mexico at the most important ISA World Surfing Games in history, the Surf City ISA World Surfing Games that will take place in La Bocana and El Sunzal between May 29 and June 6.

Based on results and competitive experience, the Mexican squad is very strong at the men's level, with a former world champion like Corzo, a competitor with a lot of experience in the ISA and other international events like Dylan Southworth and a revelation at the world level like the young Alan Cleland.

At the women's level, the great standout is Shelby Detmers, who was fourth at the 2019 Lima Pan American Games and has a lot of international competitive experience.

The squad is rounded out by Asaya Brusa and Summer Sivori who have competed in previous ISA events and some WSL events. Brusa was at ALAS in El Salvador in December and had an outstanding performance.

The following surfers were left out of the team after the evaluation carried out in El Salvador: Sebastián Williams, Rey Hernández, Ana Laura Gonzalez who injured her left arm, Sasha Donnanno and Pamela Verboonen.

The team will be coached by the talented former Peruvian professional Javier Swayne, experienced Peruvian team manager Ricardo Kaufman and Mexican Alfonso Polidura as technical director.

He will have the support of physical trainer and physiatrist Francisco Ortiz and physiatrist Marina González.
