Mexico announced its team for the ISA Open World Championship in Japan
Corzo is going for the second championship and he will be joined by Southworth, Rey Hernández, Brusa, Takeda and Dettmers who will be the Aztecs in the competition
The Mexican Surfing Federation announced today on its Facebook that the members of its country's team for the ISA Open World Championship in Tahara, Japan, which will take place between September 15 and 22, are: Jhony Corzo, Dylan Southworth, Luis Rey Hernández, Asaya Brusa, Leila Takeda and Shelby Dettmers.
Mexico is going with a strong team, especially in the men's open. Corzo is the defending champion and will seek to achieve a historic second consecutive title, something that has never been achieved in the tournament.
Meanwhile, the very talented Dylan Southworth is always consistent in these events and likes to defend his country.
Another talented player, Luis Rey Hernández, will make his debut with his country's senior team.
Meanwhile, among the women, national champion Asaya Brusa and Leila Takeda will be repeating. Shelby Dettmers from Baja California will make her debut.
