Miguel Pupo confirmed his return to the CT

Third place in the Azores put him in the A of world surfing in 2020


Brazilian Miguel Pupo has secured his place among the elite of the 2020 world tour after finishing third in the QS 6000 in the Azores and reaching 20350 points, which put him in second place in the ranking, fully guaranteed for next year's A, according to WSL Latin America.

Pupo earned most of his points at the Pantin Classic held 10 days ago in Galicia and now joins Jadson André among those guaranteed for next year, the Potiguar is in first place in the rankings with 22500 points and Alex Ribeiro who, according to the WSL statement, is “practically” guaranteed to return to the tour with 18930 points.

Close behind is Frenchman Jorgann Couzinet who has 17310, followed by American Jake Marshall and Australian Matt Banting.  and the Brazilian Yago Dora, all of them need some more results to guarantee themselves a place in the elite.

Like Costa Rican Carlos Muñoz, who is in 12th place with 13850 points.

It is worth noting that more points are awarded this year and therefore the cut-off point is expected to be above 18.000 points.
