Miguel Tudela injured his knee again

While competing in the QS 3000 in the Philippines, he had to be pulled out of the water with assistance. It is the same leg that he has just recovered but he believes it is another ligament.

Peruvian Miguel Tudela took a tumble on Tuesday a few hours ago in his round 4 heat of the QS 3000 being held in the Philippines and had to be removed from the water with the help of a water jet. According to what he told DUKE, the lip hit his back and caused his body to press his knee against his board.

He was rushed to hospital, X-rays were done and no fracture was found, but Tudela said he won't have a clear diagnosis until an MRI is done. He believes it's another ligament.

"I haven't been able to do many tests yet, it's the same knee I had last injured, but it seems that another ligament is involved. I feel good and I'm positive! Let's hope it's nothing serious and I can return to the courts as soon as possible," he wrote on social media.

After spending two months out of the water recovering from a torn ligament, Tudela competed in the Punta de Lobos Ceremonial, where he placed third and traveled to the Philippines for this event that always features perfect waves.

He had managed to pass his debut series with a good performance and placed third in his round 4 match, needing a 6,63 with one minute left he went into the wave that injured him again.

Definitely not the way I wanted to end this event! On my last wave of round 4, the lip of the wave fell on my back, crushing my chest against my knee and the board, twisting it completely. I had to get out of the water with the help of the lifeguard team, which is to say they did a 100% job, thank you very much! For now I haven't been able to do many tests, it's the same knee from my last injury but it seems that another ligament is involved, I feel good and I'm positive! Let's hope it's nothing serious and I can get back on the courts as soon as possible! Many thanks to all the people at the championship who helped me at all times, to all the #LatinMafia and Ty from the WSL! Now it's time to go home and follow the doctor's instructions! #ShitHappens #StayStrong #NeverGiveUp
