Miguel Tudela injured his knee again
While competing in the QS 3000 in the Philippines, he had to be pulled out of the water with assistance. It is the same leg that he has just recovered but he believes it is another ligament.
Peruvian Miguel Tudela took a tumble on Tuesday a few hours ago in his round 4 heat of the QS 3000 being held in the Philippines and had to be removed from the water with the help of a water jet. According to what he told DUKE, the lip hit his back and caused his body to press his knee against his board.
He was rushed to hospital, X-rays were done and no fracture was found, but Tudela said he won't have a clear diagnosis until an MRI is done. He believes it's another ligament.
"I haven't been able to do many tests yet, it's the same knee I had last injured, but it seems that another ligament is involved. I feel good and I'm positive! Let's hope it's nothing serious and I can return to the courts as soon as possible," he wrote on social media.
After spending two months out of the water recovering from a torn ligament, Tudela competed in the Punta de Lobos Ceremonial, where he placed third and traveled to the Philippines for this event that always features perfect waves.
He had managed to pass his debut series with a good performance and placed third in his round 4 match, needing a 6,63 with one minute left he went into the wave that injured him again.
