Peruvian Miguel Tudela is already the South American champion of the 2022 - 2023 season of the WSL Latin America. With the results that occurred on Saturday in Noronha and with one stage remaining, there is no way that anyone can catch up with the Peruvian.

The only way for Tudela to be dethroned with him not competing in Noronha or Mole is for Ian Gouveia to win both stages and since the Brazilian did not do so, the Peruvian is already champion.

This is the first South American professional WSL title won by Peru at the men's level.

Tudela had a perfect campaign to achieve this, winning all five stages in which he competed, in Galápagos, Iquique, Arica, Punta Rocas and Saquarema, and adding an unbeatable 14000 points.

The Peruvian also guaranteed his participation in the challenger stages last year, which already have two confirmed dates in May in Australia.
