To the title WINGS of JJ Lopez which was consecrated early today in Las Flores in open and Tzahui Poo's longboarder who declared yesterday, was joined by Kai Gale in junior and Mimi Barona in Open after a day of good surfing and perfect waves in Las Flores.

The sea dropped but the low tide kept it consistent for most of the day rounding out what were four days of perfect right-handers with very few bad moments.

More than one person thought that this was the best championship of the year, some at a world level and others talking about ALAS.

Kai Gale's title was decided in the grand final against Tosh Talbot, whoever won would take the crown. With a strong backside attack, the Panamanian made a good strategy that was better than Talbot's, who seemed hesitant at times, unlike what had happened in the rest of the tournament.

Mimi Barona lost in the semis and left the door open for Rubiana Brownell to win the title. The Costa Rican placed second behind Sol Aguirre but announced that she would not go to the Chile stage and therefore there is no way anyone can beat Barona.

For the tournament champions, Julián Schweizer put in a spectacular performance against Tony Silvagni. When it seemed that the series was over for the Uruguayan, with 40 seconds left, a good wave appeared in which he hung the 10 several times and, on the beach, he ended up celebrating with the sky blue band.

Meanwhile, in the men's open, Venezuela had a separate party with two friends sharing the final of the most lucrative tournament of the year.

Lolo Bellorín dominated the series but the two celebrated because JJ had already won the title.
