Classic WSL commentator Mitchell Salazar has changed his role at least for this week and will be dedicating himself to coaching the Mexicans in Santiago 2023.

Salazar, a native of Mazatlán, Sinaloa, Mexico, who travels the world constantly to be one of the main figures of the league's commentary panel, was hired by the Mexican national team that has several talents such as Sebastián Williams, Alan Cleland, Felipe Rodriguez, Sofía Finner, Coral Bonilla, among others.

“I feel extremely proud and happy to be part of such an important team in promoting surfing as an Olympic sport. I feel very fortunate to have the opportunity to be in such an important role with such great surfers in the Mexican surfing team,” Salazar told DUKE.

The Mexican traveled directly from Saquarema to Punta de Lobos and is seen daily with the Mexican band.
