Argentine Ignacio Gundensen won the prestigious Itacoatiara Pro tubing event, held yesterday at the famous Niterói wave in Rio de Janeiro.
Gundensen excelled in the challenging conditions and defeated none other than Rio de Janeiro star Lucas Chumbo in the grand final. He scored 11,25 to take the victory, while Chianca scored 7,5.
There was a bit of suspense in the final wave waiting for the Brazilian's score, but it wasn't enough.
It was the second time the Argentine won the event.
In the semis, Gundensen had beaten José Eduardo and Chianca had beaten Weslley Dantas.
The event was held in powerful, tubular waves of two meters or more in the heats.
