Nadia Erostarbe won the Pro Junior in Biscarrosse and climbed to the top of the European ranking
The young woman from Zarautz does not stop. After two finals in Portugal, the time of victory has come for her in France
Zarautz surfer Nadia Erostarbe achieved her first victory in a WSL Pro Junior event today after winning the JQS 1000 in Biscarrosse. After making it to two finals in Portugal, where she achieved a second and a first place, and a fifth place a few days ago in Brittany, she was finally able to climb to the top of the podium.
Erostarbe defeated Frenchwoman Uhaina Joly in the grand final by a very close score of 12,74 and 11,24. “I can’t believe it,” she wrote on social media in a photo showing her holding up the $2000 check.
The 1000 points from the result will place her in first place in the European ranking, surpassing the Israeli Anat Leilor and the Canarian Melania Suárez.

The top of the rankings is now as follows:
1- Nadia Erostarbe with 2730
2- Anat Leloir with 2540
3- Melania Suarez with 2370
It now remains to be seen whether the Sopelana stage, which appears as a tentative one on the calendar, will be held to determine whether Erostarbe is already the champion or whether there will be a definitive stage on the traditional beach of Plentzia.
What seems fairly certain is that both Erostarbe and Melania Suárez will qualify for the World Championship in this category, which is always held in Australia but now has no specific date or place.
Meanwhile, the great champion among the men was Frenchman Justin Becret. Iker Amatriain, who had been performing very well, was eliminated in a tight quarter-final series.
