"Name him Alejo and he'll be a great surfer"

Former CT member Alejo Muñiz talks about his origins related to the legendary Alejo Abramidis; and tries out his board

Alejo Muñiz, former member of CT, with Argentine parents but a long tradition of Brazilian surfing, shared three special boards for his life on his YouTube channel.

One of them linked him to his Argentine origins, his father and mother who went to live in Brazil.

Speaking about her relationship with Abramidis, Muñiz says: “At that time my mother was pregnant with me and I was going to have another name and during a meeting between him and my father, he touched my mother's belly and said: 'Name him Alejo because he is going to be a great surfer' and my parents kept that in their heads and he then died a few months later and I did not have the opportunity to meet him.”

“And that’s it, I’ll be using the board of the surfer who gave me my name,” he says.

After getting out of the water, he was surprised: “One thinks that with these boards at that time they did more linear surfing, but I was able to surf really radically.”
