One of the signings of the year was made public yesterday when Nathan Florence announced that he, at just 31 years old, had joined the Red Bull team.

According to what he told Stab, it is a two-year contract that he nevertheless foresees as the beginning of a long-term relationship.

In this interview, Florence said he thought it was too late for him to join the Red Bull team, but he was surprised by the news.

What stands out most are the things he'll now be able to do with the brand: "I can only imagine the resources Red Bull has: Will I be able to take a helicopter to Antarctica and surf the waves around icebergs?" he wonders.

On the other hand, Florence said she's now moving from funding her travels to having Red Bull pay for them. She says they want her to share her ideas, and they'll take care of it. “There's no specific budget for travel; with the right idea, the possibilities are endless. Or well, almost endless [laughs]. Plus, it's a normal contract with a salary, an incentive system, but then there's everything else: access to jet skis in any country, budgets for major projects, impeccable logistics, and performance centers for athletes, which is very important for someone like me. 'Come, we'll do blood tests, performance tests. Do you have an injury? We have MRIs, doctors, all the necessary resources to keep you in top shape.'”

The only blow to his new sponsor, his brother's, the family sponsor, Florence Marine X, is that the cap, as is customary at Red Bull, will be for the brand. Although, the family flag is on the sides.
