The sea was once again amazing and González beat the Frenchman Marc Lacomare, Tim Elter from Fuerteventura and Hugo Ortega from Barcelona in the grand final.
“When you are invited to the Quemao Class you feel like the lucky one, to be able to come and compete in one of the best waves in the world and have it to yourself and only three other people, it is something impressive,” said Natxo after his victory, according to the organization's statement.
The Basque also took home the award for the best wave of the event.
In bodyboarding, the victory went to Lionel Medina from Gran Canaria who in the final scored a 10 and a 9,35 to beat Armides Soliveres, Aitor Ojeda and Pablo Lecouey.
Franito Sánez, a local from Lanzarote and co-organiser of the tournament, had the following to say about this, the sixth edition of the event: “After all these years that we have spent, having been able to celebrate and enjoy this event, the response and support of the whole town of La Santa, the public, the competitors, the quality of the waves, has been something really exciting. I would like to thank everyone who has accompanied and collaborated to be able to celebrate this event. Next year we will be here again. And I would like to tell 'El Fula' that we have been here for him and that this event is made for you.”
