Conditions have improved at Teahupoo but race directors are waiting for the bulk of the swell to build and have decided to move the start time forward to 10:30 with the next call at 9:00.

Other considerations that were taken into account in postponing the start were that the tide was reaching its lowest point at 715:XNUMX, which will mean that when the waves increase they will do so under ideal tidal conditions, rising.

According to Surfline's forecast, the swell comes in at 12:00 noon and gets bigger at 3:00.

The primary swell has a strong southerly component, it is south-southwesterly, with 199 degrees, and Teahupoo is better off with a stronger westerly component.

The series to be played today are, in the following order:
Men's Semifinals
Alonso Correa vs Kauli Vaast
Jack Robinson vs Gabriel Medina

Women's semi-finals
Caroline Marks vs Johanne Defay
Breeze Hennessy vs Tatiana Weston Webb

Match for the bronze
Match for gold
