A $40 million wave pool is opening next week on Oahu, yes, on Oahu

One of the richest wave spots in the world has its own standing wave that has already been tested and approved by Gerry Lopez, Kai Lenny and Shane Beschen

The island of Oahu, one of the richest places in waves on the planet, is home to the newest wave pool on the planet, The Line Up Wai Kai in Honolulu, a static wave that cost 40 million dollars, is being tested these days and will be inaugurated on March 25.

Gerry Lopez, Kai Lenny, Shane Beschen, Noah Beschen and several of the best surfers in Hawaii tested it and approved, giving a true surfing spectacle.

The way it works is that you pay approximately $40 per hour, during which a certain number of people will line up with the rest of the people who reserve that time.

While the session is taking place, former CT Shane Beschen will be one of the coaches in charge of giving advice to beginners and advanced players.

Gerry López said in an interview with The Inertia after trying the wave that this type of pool is part of the future of surfing and that it must be accepted as part of the sport.

For his part, Lenny said he went to try new things and shared an impressive video in which he is seen doing what he wanted, including an impressive switch surfing level.

The pool is part of a clubhouse that has a lagoon for other recreational activities, lounge chairs, cabins, relaxation areas and a restaurant, among other activities.
