Costa Rican Ethan Hollander and Nicaraguans Valentina and Candelaria Resano took the podium in different categories in the 2018 edition of the National Scholastic Surfing Association (NSSA) Western Conference Championship in the United States.

At the event held on fun 10-foot waves in Huntington Beach, Hollander placed third in the open season minigroms category for under-XNUMX surfers and earned a fifth in the supergroms explorer.

Meanwhile, Candelaria Resano won the Under 13 explorers and placed third in the Under 13 open. Her older sister, Valentina, achieved second place in the Under 15 explorers and reached the semis in the open.

Another competitor was Costa Rican Axel Castro, who after having reached several finals in NSSA events, was not as lucky this year and was eliminated in round 1.

The national finals are coming up now and will also take place in Huntington.
