Ornella Pellizzari's backside attack and Facundo Arreyes' fluid and powerful frontside reigned on the long, perfect rights of the Yacht de Mar del Plata and took victory at the Rip Curl Pro Argentina, the fifth and final stage of that country's tour.

Ornella was superior to Josefina Ané, Lucía Cosoleto and Vera Jarisz who in that order reached the final and Arreyes beat Lele Usuna in a man-to-man series. In the semis, Julián Serrés, the revelation of the event, and Maxi Siri had lost.

Before the event began, Lele Usuna had already guaranteed herself the champion's cup. For her part, Josefina Ané needed to place fifth or better in the event to claim her first crown.

Second place in this tournament gave her the title, while Ornella's first place left her as Argentine vice-champion.
