Panama travels with full team to Surf City El Salvador ISA World Junior Surfing Championship

They will finish defining the team on site in La Bocana and El Sunzal

The Panamanian team for the Surf City El Salvador ISA World Junior Surfing Championship was confirmed by its federation in a statement published on social media.

The Central Americans are travelling with a talented full team that includes, among others, the experienced brothers Teo and Kai Gale.

They travel with their new coaches, Peruvians Javier Swayne and Ricardo Kaufman, and with young professional Agustín Cedeño as assistant coach.

Panama is coming off a 25th place finish in Huntington Beach, an event in which it showed up with an incomplete team but which had some masterful performances by Isauro Elizondo, who is no longer a junior.

“The final representatives will be defined on site once the final evaluations are completed,” the statement said. The clinic that defined the team sought to “instill in the team the custom and discipline of maintaining in a structured manner the fulfillment of their individual training plans and teamwork.”

“We seek to guide them to develop a competitive maturity that allows them to maximize their potential in their different commitments. An exhaustive analysis has been carried out by the coaching staff, evaluating various technical, tactical, and emotional aspects, combined with parameters of discipline, commitment, and attitude, among others,” they added.

The team manager will be Ilka Vargas.
