Panamanian Izzy Elizondo dominated event in Hawaii
He won the under 18 and was vice-president in the under 16 in the local championship on the island of Maui.

Living in Hawaii for a few months now, Panamanian Isauro Elizondo achieved a great result in a local event on the island of Maui where he won the under 18 category and placed second in the under 16 category.
In the first category, he added 12,6 to place Jackson Bunch in second place, Levi Yong in third place (both with 12,43) and Memphis Brown in fourth place.
Despite improving his total in the Under 16 category, local Bunch took revenge and added 15, Izzy 14,34 and Levi Young with 13,96 placed third again. Chase Anderson placed fourth, according to the championship results website.
“Very happy to have the opportunity to compete again here in Maui (…), Isauro wrote on his Instagram, having made it to the semi-finals in the previous event. “Thank you to the Maui Surfing Association and Hi-Tech Surf Sports for making this event possible. Very grateful for all the support from all of you and congratulations to all the competitors,” added the Panamanian.
Elizondo, a Santa Catalina resident, had said in an interview with DUKE, read here, that going to Hawaii would give him more opportunities during the pandemic than staying in Panama. This result is proving him right.
