Salvadoran Bryan Pérez, Peruvians Melanie Giunta and Catalina Zariquiey, Ecuadorian Maxi Sáenz, and Uruguayan Julián Schweizer were crowned champions of the ALAS 2023 tour, which today concluded its most important stage, the Surf City El Salvador ALAS Pro.
The waves picked up for the final day of the event and kept breaking at Las Flores point throughout the day.
The decisions were close for several titles. If Bran Pérez did not win the final against Lucca Mesinas, the decision would go to Peru, the same happened for Zariquiey, Giunta and Passeri; and that is what ended up happening.
Meanwhile, Sáenz and Schweizer placed second in the tournament but it was enough to win the title since in the Under 18 category the champion was Noel de la Torre and in the open longboard category it was Tony Silvagni.
The moment of maximum tension of the final day came just after the last final of the day, with the last exchange between Lucca Mesinas and Bryan Pérez. The local received 7,5 and added 13,17. If the Peruvian received 6,18, he would have turned it around.
The note took a while to arrive but it arrived in the form of 5,73 and that's when the local fans erupted in celebration.
