Peru and Chile achieved several victories in a competitive Brazilian youth tournament
Isidora Bultó and Catalina Zariquiey won; Bernales, Ferreira, Román, Artieda, Barthelmes and Chuman achieved podium; Peru won the tag team

Peru and Chile achieved a very outstanding performance in the 35th edition of the traditional Hang Loose Surf Attack, a competitive youth event that took place in Itamambuca, São Paulo last weekend.
Young surfers Isidora Bultó from Chile and Catalina Zariquiey from Peru won in the Under 14 and Under 16 categories respectively, and the Peruvian team that participated in the tag team event beat the team of the best surfers from the state of São Paulo.
Meanwhile, Alejandro Bernales was third in the Under 14 category, Pedro Ferreira fourth in the Under 16 category, Micael Román second in the Under 12 category; and, at the female level, Sofía Artieda was second and Briana Barthelmes third in the Under 14 category. To add another medal, Barthelmess herself was second in the Under 12 category, leaving her compatriot Aissa Chuman in third place.
Finally, Catalina Zariquiey won an extra 500 reales (approximately 100 dollars) for winning the award for the best maneuver of the event.
