The Peruvians who will compete in Lima 2019 will begin their training tomorrow with Australian coach Martin Dunn, he himself reported in an interview conducted by the Surfing Federation of that country.
According to Dunn, the training will focus on three areas:
-Work on the ability to get good scores in Punta Rocas mainly.
-Understand competition strategies and apply them at Punta Rocas. Each surfer will receive my new training system, designed for highly motivated riders. This system will be used every day to improve consistency in competition.
-Improve the use of priority in competition heats.
According to him, most of the training will be in Punta Rocas, although he will also use San Bartolo to carry out part of the preparations.
He also said that the men will go first, followed by the women who are currently competing in the QS in South Africa.
Dunn spoke highly of Peruvian surfing, noting that “it is now a global force.”
The surfing competition for the Lima 2019 Pan American Games will take place between July 29 and August 4 in Punta Rocas, and Peru will have four shortboarders, two longboarders and two SUPers competing in the wave competitions.
They are: Alonso Correa, Lucca Mesinas, Melanie Giunta, Daniella Rosas, Piccolo Clemente, Mafer Reyes, Tamil Martino and Vania Torres.
