Peru's presence at the Backdoor Shootout 2023 has been confirmed, the main sponsor of the team, Tubos Surf School, reported on its Instagram account.
The team will be made up of Gabriel Villaran, Joaquin del Castillo, Alonso Correa, Cristobal de Col, Alvaro Malpartida, Miguel Tudela and Martin Jeri.
Peru had a very good performance in its first appearance, which was last year, shining especially on the penultimate day of the tournament in which the entire team took home a good share of waves.
This is the third year that the team has entered the competition, but it is expected to be the second year in which it will compete. The first time the tournament was not held due to a lack of waves.
The waiting period for the 2023 edition runs from January 4 to 16.
