Peru dominated the QS and Pro Junior at home

Three of the four categories in dispute were won by locals: Alonso Correa, Daniella Rosas and Arena Rodríguez


Peru made its home team respect its home team in the QS and Pro Junior that concluded today in Señoritas, Punta Hermosa, in fun waves of half a meter to one meter. Three of the four categories in dispute were won by locals: Alonso Correa and Daniella Rosas in the men's and women's pro and Arena Rodríguez in the women's pro junior.

Only Rodrigo Saldanha was needed to give Brazil the victory in the men's youth pro.

In the men's final, Alonso Correa's power surfing was superior to Cristóbal de Col's by 12,37 to 7,33.

Tied for third place in the category were Brazilians Leo Casal and Rickson Falcao.

Among the ladies, the classic giant duel between Daniella Rosas and Sol Aguirre was repeated and the former's backside was superior to the latter's by 14,67 to 12,8.

Tied for third place were Sophia Medina from Brazil and the great promise that is Catalina Zariquiey from Peru.

Meanwhile, in the junior women's pro, the Peruvian dominance was significant, with four of the four semifinalists being locals. Arena Rodríguez won by 10,33 to 9,9 against Kalea Gervasi and Sofia Artieda and Catalina Zariquiey tied for third place.

The dominance that was not seen by Brazil in the rest of the categories did take place in the men's junior pro, which had four semi-finalists in green and yellow.

Rodrigo Saldanha beat Guilherme Ferreira 14 to 10,2 and Leo Casal and Fabricio Rocha tied for third place.

With this result, the youth ranking started with the winners at the top and the professional regional ranking did not see any major changes. The top 20 saw Alonso Correa getting closer to the top 7 that qualifies for the challengers, he is now 12th.
