Peru was the star of the QS in Iquique, which ended today with perfect right-handers. It won three of the four divisions contested and also had a finalist and a semi-finalist.

Miguel Tudela won the men's category, Sol Aguirre the women's category and the women's pro junior category, Arena Rodríguez was a finalist in the professional category and Kalea Gervasi was a semi-finalist in the youth category.

In addition, Nacho Gundensen from Argentina was a finalist in the men's professional category and Mimi Barona from Ecuador was a semi-finalist in the women's professional category.

The only division with only Brazilians on the podium was the junior men's division, which still left Franco Radziunas and Noel de la Torre in fifth place; the event was won by Heitor Mueller.

To win the men's final, Tudela read the sea well to find an 8,83 which he then backed up with a 7,33. Gundensen made an 8 and was left needing an 8,17 which never came; it was, however, one of the best results of the Argentine's career.

The final score was 16,16 to 14,70.

Among the women, Sol Aguirre dominated the final from start to finish. In her first two waves she scored a 5 and a 7,83. Arena Rodriguez kept up the pace, scoring 5,83 and 6,4 in two of her first three waves.

But Sol Aguirre saved her best for last when she added 8,67 to seal the match.

In the junior women's pro Sol Aguirre once again excelled, facing the Brazilian Tainá Hinckel and was superior. She beat her by 11,94 (5,37+6,67) versus 10,73 (5,83+4,9).

Kalea Gervasi of Peru finished third in the division after losing to Sol Aguirre in the semis.

Finally, in the junior category, the new young Brazilian talent, Heitor Muller, beat a semi-unknown Diego Aguiar in the grand final.

Ryan Kainalo and Leo Casal came in third.
