Peru started undefeated at the longboard world championship in France

Mexico and Argentina managed to get two athletes into the second round of the main event

Peru, like the United States, Canada, New Zealand, Australia, Brazil and France, started with its undefeated team in the first round of the women's ISA longboard world championship that took place this afternoon on blown waves in Biarritz.

María Fernanda Reyes and Ana Camila Kaspar won their respective heats with good performances. The first scored 10,27 to beat an Italian and a Russian and the second 6,74 to beat a Mexican, another Italian and another Russian.

It was the only Spanish team that managed to stay intact. The rest had at least one of their representatives go to the playoffs.

Risa Machuca from Mexico and Teté Gil from Argentina made it to round 2 of the main event. The rest of the Spanish competitors fell to the repechage.

The two Spaniards, Miriam Mir and María Lafuente, were eliminated from the playoffs, as were the Argentine Evelyn Gontier, the Uruguayan Fernanda Barbot, the Mexican Cecilia González and the Ecuadorian Michelle Soriano.

The best score of the day was achieved by local water woman Justine Dupont who added 11,96 (6,33+5,63).
