Peru surfed two of the best seven waves of December in Hawaii
Joaquín del Castillo and Martín Jerí and their bombs in Pipe are monthly finalists of the winter wave
The waves surfed by Martín Jerí and Joaquín del Castillo during the month of December in Pipe placed them among the seven finalists of the month of December in the Winter Wave tournament organized by the Surfline website.
The online championship judges are heavyweights: Gerry Lopez, Shawn Briley, Shane Dorian and Pancho Sullivan, according to a note in Surfline they were unable to make five finalists because the waves were so good that they extended the number to seven.
Del Castillo got a hit on December 31, when the sea was big, heavy and a little messy (just the way he likes it).
Later that day, with the sea calming down, Jerí was hit by a huge swell that covered him completely and took him out at 200 miles per hour.
Both entries are accompanied by waves surfed by Liam O'Brien, Mark Healey, Wiggolly Dantas, Jamie O'Brien and Koa Rothman.
