Peru won the medal table for surfers at the South American beach competition

The Inkateam won three of the eight gold medals available, Argentina placed second, Venezuela third and Brazil fourth; following the Olympic criteria

The Peruvian surfing team once again demonstrated its continental power after the South American beach surfing competitions that are taking place in Santa Marta and surrounding areas, Colombia, concluded today.

Considering the criteria used to define the strongest nations at the Olympic level, in which golds weigh more in the ranking, Peru won in the eight surfing and SUP events that were held, winning three of the eight golds up for grabs.

Argentina and Venezuela each won two gold medals, but Argentina broke the tie in its favour by winning a silver and a bronze medal, and finally, Brazil, which won only one gold medal out of the eight events mentioned, was placed fourth according to the calculations made by DUKE.
