Peruvian Kalea Gervasi qualified for the WSL Pro Junior World Championship
The Peruvian was not crowned champion by five points; she will travel to the World Cup representing South America alongside Bela Nalu, Heitor Muller and Ryan Kainalo
Peruvian Kalea Gervasi finished the South American pro-youth ranking in second place and thus guaranteed herself a place in the WSL world championships, which are expected to take place in January in California.
Gervasi finished second behind Bela Nalu of Brazil who was crowned champion.
Among the men, the South American champion was Ryan Kainalo, who will travel accompanied by Heitor Muller to the aforementioned World Championship.
Two South American men and two women have qualified for the World Championships, which took place last year in Seaside Reef, San Diego, California.
The Peruvian was not crowned champion by five points according to the ranking formed by two tournaments: Saquarema and Punta Rocas; Nalu added 1300 and Gervasi (who won in Saquarema), made 1295.
Sofia Artieda of Peru finished fourth and Sol Aguirre fifth. The latter, four-time South American youth champion, had won the Punta Rocas stage but could not participate in Saquarema because the dates coincided with the Pan American Games in Santa Catalina.
