Peruvian media reports that Alonso Correa is also guaranteed to play in El Salvador in 2021
There is no official confirmation from Fenta; the athlete did not attend the qualifying rounds that began today
The current top 10 in the QS world ranking, Alonso Correa, will be at the 2021 World Championships in El Salvador, reported the newspaper El Comercio and local journalists Michel Romero and Hans Firbas based on sources from the Peruvian surfing federation.
Correa had been excluded from the El Salvador team despite being part of the Tokyo 2020 plan organized by the Peruvian sports institute, along with Mesinas, Rosas and Mulanovich.
Then, the new board of directors of the federation announced a qualifying process for the World Cup and established that Correa and Mulanovich should go to the tests on the 8th, 10th and 12th.
The surfer did not attend the qualifying tests that are taking place today.
The grand event will take place in La Bocana and El Sunzal between May 29 and June 6 and will bring together the best in the world.
With this news, two Peruvian places remain, already guaranteed:
Open men
Lucca Messinas
Alonso Correa
Open ladies
Sofia Mulanovich
Daniella Rosas
